The hospital has almost everything you and baby need after giving birth. This Frida Mom postpartum kit looks like a wonderful and useful set to have at home. At least two comfy outfits for mom and a pair of slippers and shower shoes is a must. A simple going home outfit for baby along with a first picture outfit. I love this set from Caden Lane because it comes with everything you'll need for that perfect hospital photo. Outdoor Favorites for Kids

in , , by Megan Patzius, 12:30 AM

Today I'm sharing some of my kids favorite outdoor toys. Our main goal every summer is to keep cool and have fun! So far this summer the inflatable water slide has been the biggest hit. I love how easy set up and storage is with the electric inflatable bounce houses and water slides. I've linked some of our other favorites. Most are from Target and very affordable!

Toddler Summer Fun

Keeping your toddler busy during the summer heat can be tough! These are some of our family's favorite outdoor toys for babies, toddlers and young kids. A water table is a must have! It keeps my little ones busy for hours. I highly recommend an inflatable bouncy house or slide if you are short on storage space. We just roll it out and plug it in when we're ready to use it. Find all my top summer outdoor toys linked below.

Big Brother

The last few months have been a whirlwind actually this entire last year was. We moved from Fort Wayne back to St. Louis to be closer to family in February. Before we moved we found out we were expecting baby #2!! Rewind to this past fall when we decided it was time to try for another baby. We always knew we wanted our kids to be about 3 years apart. Over Christmas I started feeling sick and just a bit off. Then around New Years the sick feeling really intensified and I just knew then I was pregnant. I took a test a few days after the new year and it was positive! We are so excited to be welcoming another baby into the family. Before moving I had my first doctor's appointment and ultrasound. It didn't go as expected and I left that appointment feeling terribly anxious. A week later and only a few days before moving I had another ultrasound with a specialist. Luckily this one went much better and I left feeling much more hopeful. It would be another week of waiting for test results before I could get past much of the worry I was feeling. We were so thankful when the test results came back good and we also found out we are having a girl!! Even though my pregnancy got off to a rocky start I learned a lot about how I want to handle future pregnancies. It also reminded me how lucky I am to have a healthy pregnancy and healthy children.

Newborn Must Haves

I'm currently pregnant with my second baby and I wanted to share everything on my wish list. Picking out things this time around has been so fun! So many amazing things have come out since my last pregnancy.

The first thing on my wish list is the Dock-a-Tot. I've heard so many amazing things about this co-sleeper pillow. My son co-slept with us for quite a while so I'm excited to have a safe sleeping spot for the new baby. I've also read many reviews that said it makes transitioning your baby to their own bed much easier.

Hospital Bag Must Haves

I'm sure everyone has seen these lists of must have items for your hospital bag and I'm sure most of you would agree that many of them are a little over board. So I thought I would go ahead and share my list of sh*t you really need!
First let's go over the things you don't need to bring but I very often see included on these lists. You don't need toiletry items, diapers, rash creams, formula, bottles, pacifiers, or any pillows or blankets for mom and dad. Basically any medical items for yourself and baby are provided. Also pretty much anything your baby absolutely needs in their first few days of life is provided by the hospital.
Now to the list of things I think you need...

Rock'n'Play Sleeper
This is one of my must haves for new babies! The model that we had vibrated and had to be rocked manually. The one I linked is the newest model and it looks pretty amazing! First of all it rocks your baby for you and second it isn't battery powered so it will rock for up to 6 hours while you and baby sleep. What I loved most about this sleeper is the inclined seat which makes your baby feel like they're being held and snuggled. The incline is also great for babies with acid reflux which my son did have.

Lee's Woodland Nursery

in , , by Megan Patzius, 10:37 PM

It has taken me so long to finally get this up but here it is! Lee's woodland themed nursery. This is by far my favorite room in my house. I had so much fun putting this space together for my little Lee. My biggest challenge in creating this nursery was finding a theme that I loved. I knew I wanted the room to be simple and modern but I also wanted to incorporate a cute theme that would be perfect for a baby boy. Forest animals have always been my favorite so I thought a woodland theme would be perfect. Something about deer, foxes, owls, and the outdoors just screams little boy to me. Most of the items in this room were collected over a few months and many of them were purchased at Target, Homegoods, and Hobby Lobby. These three stores are great places to find nursery decor! A few wall art pieces were done by me. The letter L is an inexpensive cardboard letter that I purchased from Hobby Lobby. I added a few layers of white paint which in the end made it look like wood. I bought the framed chalkboard at Homegoods and added a quote that I found on pinterest. I found the two frames above the dresser at Kohls and I thought I could buy art prints to put in them. However I couldn't find any that I loved so I decided to make my own in photoshop. Last but not least the amazing tree & owl mural was painted by mother. She did not use a stencil but if your looking for a something similar I have seen a few tree wall decals for sale on Amazon.
