Baby Boy Nursery Inspiration

I've been having so much fun planning the decor for our baby boy's nursery. I've decided the theme is going to be rustic woodland chic. Forest animals, faux fur, industrial elements, and classic furniture pieces. Though this is just my inspiration board I have registered for a few of the items and hope to incorporate them into the nursery very soon. The bedding collection is from Babies R Us. It features a gray and taupe palette of colors and woodland elements such as the owl blanket. The bedding set also offers a comforter option but I prefer just having the owl and chevron blankets because I find those more practical for everyday use. I had the hardest time finding baby bedding I liked that wasn't a ridiculous price. I knew I wanted gray or neutral colors and I also didn't want a loud print. Unfortunately most baby bedding doesn't have either of those things. All I was coming across was bright colored bedding with loud printed sheets and heavy comforters with large animal pictures all over them, which is completely not my style. That's why I was so thrilled to come across this line of bedding by Living Textiles at Babies R Us. It's beautiful and pretty affordable. Once I had the bedding I began building the room around that color scheme. The walls are going to be a light taupe/gray color and will feature a large white tree painted on the wall with the crib. I feel this will really bring the woodland theme all together. I also want to add woodland inspired elements to the art in the room. I plan on doing a series of framed forest animal illustrations above the crib, and I'm also on the hunt to find some kind of deer head art piece for another wall. These metal letters from Pottery Barn are beautiful and will add a nice industrial/modern element to the decor. I think I might try to do a more affordable DIY version using spray paint and letters from the craft store, I'll be sure to feature a post on that if I do. The picture/book ledge from Target looks similar to reclaimed wood and I think it will be a nice rustic touch to add to the walls. I'm thinking I may use it to display our favorite children's books and cute forest themed stuffed animals. Another thing on my wish list is a rocking chair. I absolutely love this gray upholstered one from Target! I think the faux fur pillow and shag rug would make for a great cozy reading corner for the room. I can't wait to get started on decorating this room! We're painting this month then next month after my shower we'll finally be putting the finishing touches on it.
